Chandoli National Park, Maharashtra Goa

Chandoli National Park is a famous national park located in the state of Maharashtra which is spread over an area of ​​about 318 sq km. Chandoli Park is notable as the southern part of the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, with the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary being the northern part of the reserve. Wrapped in lush green vegetation, this national park is home to a wide and distinctive variety of animals, birds and reptiles. This national park is known for its exciting jungle safaris, bird watching, trekking and other activities, which provide a unique opportunity to the tourists to witness extraordinary views of nature.

Chandoli National Park area is home to 23 species of mammals, 122 species of birds and 20 species of amphibians and reptiles. Animals like Indian leopard, Bengal tiger, Indian bison, leopard cats, Indian giant squirrel and sloth bear are the main species found here. Apart from these, many species like mouse deer, sambar deer, barking deer and blackbuck can also be seen on a visit to Chandoli National Park.

 

The Chandoli National Park region sees a mixture of moist forests of the Malabar Coast and moist deciduous forests of the North Western Ghats. Commonly seen trees include amla (Indian gooseberry), kokum, anjani ironwood tree, umbar or devil fig, jamun, pita, nana, kinjal, spinous kino tree, false kelt, harrah, Indian laurel.

The entry fee is just 30 Rs per person, and vehicle entry fee is 150 Rs. The guide charge is 300 Rs and guide is mandatory to explore all area of the national park.
